Adenomyomatosis of the gallbladder is relatively rare among the surgical diseases of the gallbladder. It is caused primarily by an abnormality of muscle contraction and an increased intraluminal pressure in the gallbladder, similar to the diverticular disease of the colon. It is dificult to differentiate adenomyomatosis from malignant lesions. Sometimes gallbladder cancer is found in the mucosa of a gallbladder wit adenomyomatosis but most cases of adenomyomatosis cases are benign. Cholecystectomy is advocated as treatment for patients with adenomyomatosis of gallbladder. We report two cases of adenomyomatosis of gallbladder(37 and 40 year old males) and review the literature.
