dc.description.abstractBackground: Nursing is highly stressful occupation, and frequently reported as a very stressful job that has been affected to the nurses’ job satisfaction and job performance. It also reported as a high level of occupational stress are believed to affect the physical and mental health of the nurses and also affect to the patient’s life.

Aims: The purpose of this study is to explore the level of occupational stress, job satisfaction, and job performance among hospital nurses in Cambodia according their general characteristics.

Method: A cross-sectional study was conducted in 2012. The study population was consisted of 177 nurses from the hospital in Takeo, Phmom Pemh, and Sihanouk vile in Cambodia. Study tools was measured the level of occupational stress, Job satisfaction and job performance in Cambodian language with anonymously. The data was analyzed using SPSS 17 program. Descriptive analyses ANOVA, t-test for differences for each variables.

Results: There were the significant differences in the occupational stress levels between doubles job and marital status, and also there was statistically different in level of job satisfaction and hospital status, also there were significant differences in job performance and the hospital status and marital status.

Conclusions: The organizational different of general characteristic between doubles job, hospital status, marital status were influenced factor to the major study variables.
