The Current System and Future Directions of Health Examination Survey

Abstract

The national health examination survey companied with the interview survey for nutritional and health status has been developed for previous 10 years since 1998 in which the first survey was conducted. The survey was designed to obtain the prevalence of chronic disease of the Korean population in main. The current survey system including the goal, target diseases, examination components and procedures were reviewed and compared by the system of other countries, and the future directions were discussed in the study.

과거 10년간 국가검진조사의 목적, 목표, 조사내용과 체계가 적절하게 구비되어왔다. 과거 3년 주기로 수행되던 조사가 2007년부터 지속조사체계로 바뀌고 조사의 목적에 따라 조사항목이 정비되고 있으며 질병관리본부가 수행주체가 되면서 발전단계에 있다. 현시점에서 우선적으로 중요한 것은 바뀐 체계가 잘 정착되는 것으로 현지조사체계 및 환경의 표준화, 지속사업에서 산출되는 자료의 신속한 데이터베이스 구축, 적극적인 대국민 결과홍보 활동, 신속한 자료 분배를 통한 자료이용의 활성화, 조사목적에 따른 표본추출체계의 과학과 등이 주요 중단기적 과제로 판단된다. 장기적으로는 국가조사사업 간의 연계 또는 분리 등을 통한 효율적 운영체계 모색도 고려되어야 할 것이다.
