Guidelines for management of endometriosis

Abstract

Endometriosis is an enigmatic disease characterized by development of endometrial tissue outside of the uterus, causing pain and infertility. This guideline will provide evidence based information concerning diagnosis and treatment of endometriosis. Constructive dialogue should allow patients to be able to trust the advice given by their practitioner as they will be confident that they have and will be able to use this guideline to inform this decision-making process. This guideline has been developed with the aim of providing guidance on endometriosis. The effectiveness of the various treatments as well as their risks and benefits are discussed in relation to their use in the treatment of endometriosis. We wish the information contained in this guideline will help clinicians reach a reasonable and beneficial decision with the up-to-date information.

자궁내막증은 자궁내막 조직이 자궁이 아닌 곳에서 증식하는 질환으로 골반통과 불임을 야기하는 수수께기 같은 질환이다. 본 진료지침은 임상근거 자료에 근거하여 자궁내막증 환자를 대상으로 연구되었던 다양한 결과들을 바탕으로 질환의 발생기전, 진단 및 여러가지 소개된 치료법과 그 효과 및 위험성 등을 정리하였다. 본 진료지침이 임상의들에게 최신의 정보를 제공하여 합리적이고 효과적인 상담과 치료방법을 선택하는 데 도움이 되고자 한다.
