Binocular Single Vision in Korean

Abstract

목적 : 양안 단일시 시야검사는 복시의 정도 및 진행, 안구운동질환의 평가에 유용한 방법이지만 한국인에 대한 연구는 미비한 상황이다. 저자들은 나이별, 성별로 양안 단일시 시야검사를 실시하여 한국인의 알아보고자 하였다.

대상과 방법 : 특별한 과거력 없고 시력 장애 없는 100명의 정상인을 대상으로 골드만 시야계를 이용하여 양안 단일시 시야검사를 시행하였다.

결과 : 상측의 양안 단일시 시야는 55.6도, 좌측 65.7도, 우측 64.5도, 하측은 74.9도였다. 연령별로 통계학적으로 유의한 차이를 보이지 않았다. 성별로 하우측이 남성 55.9도, 여성 59.3도, 하좌측은 남성 55.4도, 여성 59.4도로 여성이 남성보다 하좌, 하우측에서 시야가 넓었으며(p<0.05), 다른 방향은 차이가 없었다. 서양인과 비교하여 상측은 큰 차이가 없었으나 좌우, 하측에서 한국인이 더 넓게 검사되었다.

결론 : 남녀의 코 모양 차이로 여성이 하좌, 하우측의 양안 단일시 시야가 넓었으며 서양인과 안면구조와 코 모양 차이로 한국인이 좌우, 하측의 시야가 넓었다. 한국인의 정상 양안 단일시 시야검사 결과를 사시 및 안구운동장애질환의 진단 및 경과 관찰에 유용하게 사용될 수 있을 것으로 생각된다.

Purpose : The binocular single vision test plays an important role in evaluating severity and progression of diplopia, and a motility disorder. The purpose of this study is to determine the normal value of the field of binocular single vision according to the age and the sex of Korean.

Methods : The field of binocular single vision was examined in normal 100 Koreans using Goldmann perimeter.

Results : The field of binocular single vision was 55.6° at upward gaze, 65.7° at left lateral gaze, 64.5° at right lateral gaze, and 74.9° at downward gaze. The value among different age groups was not statistically significant. The women had a, broader field at left and right inferior area than the male (p<0.05). Korean had a larger right, left, and inferior field than Caucasian does.

Conclusions : The differences of the field of binocular single vision between male and female are due to the differences in nasal architecture. The differences between Korean and Caucasian are due to differences of nasal architecture and facial structure. It may be useful in evaluating of strabismus and motility disorder if the normal field value of binocular single vision in Korean could be put under consideration.
